Local Plan, Local Development Framework and Planning Policy

The Planning Policy team deal with the local plan, Local Development Framework (LDF) and other planning policy matters. Please follow the links below to find out more.

 

Local Plan

· West Lancashire Replacement Local Plan (2006). This is the current adopted local plan for the District.

· Supplementary planning guidance notes provide extra detail on certain policies within the local plan.

 

Local Development Framework

· Local Development Framework (LDF). The LDF is a set of documents that will eventually replace the Local Plan.

 

Latest planning policy news

· Consultation on planning policy documents. Find out what we are consulting on and how you can join our consultation database.

· Residential development policy. Discover how we are treating our housing policy (the "moratorium") in light of recent developments.

· Housing and employment land studies ('call for sites').  Check progress on these important studies, which are looking at how much potential land we have to meet future needs.
